Vimshottari dasha divides a life into planetary periods totalling 120 years, starting from the nakshatra the Moon occupied at birth. Enter the birth date, time and time zone.
The first dasha belongs to the lord of the birth nakshatra, and only the part of it that the Moon had still to travel in that nakshatra remains at birth. Each Mahadasha is divided into nine Antardashas in the same order, in proportion to their lengths. Method as in P.V.R. Narasimha Rao's "Vedic Astrology: An Integrated Approach" (chapter 16), with the Lahiri ayanamsa; checked against the worked example there.
